Abstract:
It is the purpose of this thesis to (1) present a guide for the teaching of astronomy in the upper elementary grades; (2) review basic concepts and subject matter in astronomy; (3) present current astronomical information; (4) present astronomy work sheets, laboratory work, and audio-visual aids suitable for classroom use; and (5) include observational astronomy in the elementary grades through the use of the telescope.
